A new dynamic Guy Ritchie’s portrayal of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s most famous characters, “Sherlock Holmes”, is starting with Lord Blackwood, an occult sorcerer, being stopped by Holmes and Watson just before he commits a human sacrifice ritual. Blackwood gets executed by hanging three months later and Watson himself proclaims him dead. Blackwood’s last wish was to see Holmes before being hanged. However, Blackwood mysteriously returns from the grave and resumes with the murders. In the meantime Dr. Watson is moving out of 221B Baker Street to start his new business and get married to Mary Morstan, who Holmes dislikes. Blackwood’s apparent ability to cheat death terrifies the metropolis and only Holmes has a chance of figuring out what he’s up to. Holmes and Watson reveal clues which lead them into a twisted web of murder, deceit, and black magic. Holmes’ path once again crosses with the temptress Irene Adler the American beauty who broke his heart years before.
