Prison Break is a story of two brothers, one of who is sentenced to death awaiting his punishment in prison and the other happens to be one of the people who designed that prison. Lincoln Burrows has been sentenced to death for killing the Vice President’s brother. Lincoln’s half-brother, Michael Scofield, believes he’s innocent, so he robs a bank and gets thrown in prison on purpose. With his knowledge of the building Michael hopes that the two of them can escape together. He had a series of tattoos applied to his body. Those tattoos are the blueprints for the prison. Inside, brothers will discover a mass conspiracy that will make their escape more challenging and difficult than Michael thought. A lot of characters get involved in their plans, like the prison warden, other inmates and the prison doctor who happens to be the governor’s daughter.

Invictus is a true story of how Nelson Mandela, then newly elected South African president, who joins forces with the captain of South Africa’s rugby team to help unite their country. Mandela is aware that racial tensions are still present and that the country faces crime and unemployment problems. These racial tensions can be partly seen in Mandela’s own security team that consists of both white and black officials. Despite sharing the same job and goals they are hostile to each other. Knowing that he has to solve these problems president Mandela tries to bring his countrymen together through the universal language of sport. He attends a game of Springboks – the country’s rugby union team. Blacks in the stadium cheer against their home team as the Springboks represent prejudice and apartheid in their mind. Mandela befriends Springbok captain, Francois Pienaar supporting South Africa’s rugby team to a victory in the World Cup.

Uncertainty is an “alternate reality” drama with typically interesting results. A young couple Bobby and Kate need to make a decision – where to spend the Fourth of July. Do they go to a party at Kate’s family or do they embark on an adventure of their own? After making their decision an alternate reality merges to show just what would have happened had they chosen differently. In one story they decide not to go to Kate’s family and get into a cab. There, Bobby finds a cell phone that gets him in trouble with the Russian mafia. In the other reality they go to the party which turns out not to be any less dramatic. It becomes clear how much even minor decisions can affect the rest of our lives.

Prep & Landing is a colorful Christmas tale about “an elite unit of elves” who prepare homes for Santa’s arrival. Wayne is an elf who has spent 227 years on the squad and is looking forward to his promotion as a Director of Naughty List Intelligence. Surprisingly, his partner gets the job and this leaves Wayne disappointed with a bitter taste in his mouth. In addition, Wayne gets a new rookie enthusiastic partner, Lanny who looks up to him. The two elves go on a mission to prep a house of a little boy Timmy. Things go wrong when Timmy sees Wayne and Lanny taking photographs of them and making Santa reconsider visiting his house. Wayne may be Lanny’s teacher but Lanny has a challenging task of reminding Wayne of the spirit of Christmas.

Naïve and innocent young man by the name of Dorian Gray arrives in Victorian London to live in the house he has inherited. Watton’s friend, society artist Basil Hallward, paints a portrait of Dorian in order to capture the power of his youth and beauty. Infatuated with the portrait, Dorian makes a kind of a deal with the Devil, saying he would give anything, even his soul to stay forever as he is in the picture. Years pass by and Gray stays as young – looking as ever, while his portrait grows old, reflecting all his sins on canvas. He realizes he must guard this secret at all cost when true love enters his life. The adaptation of the famous Oscar Wilde play is a tale of power, greed, vanity, deceit and sins.

An Education, film with both humorous and dramatic moments shows the transformation from a young schoolgirl into a woman of the world. Jenny is a bright young woman of 16, living in London in 1960’s. Her parents have high hopes for her, wanting her to attend Oxford. Jenny’s world turns upside down when she meets 15 year older David who takes her to fancy restaurants, away for weekends in the country, concerts, showing her lifestyle she never imagined existed. David shows her that there is life outside the classroom making her fall in love with him and leaving plans for Oxford behind. However, Jenny learns things about David’s life she finds not so pleasing. She comes to a point where she has to choose between David and her dream of Oxford.

Adam is a classically socially challenged individual with Asperger syndrome – a high-functioning form of autism. He has some difficulties dealing with certain situations, namely work and personal relationships. It’s a story of a handsome young man whose life changes when he meets outgoing and intelligent writer Beth who moves into his building. Beth is the woman of his dreams. Adam charms Beth with his awkwardness and little things he does for her like making a virtual solar system in her apartment and Beth introduces Adam to the ways of the outside world. This unusual connection is disapproved by Beth’s conservative father, telling her she can do much better. Beth and Adam have considerable impact on each other but it remains to be seen will their relationship survive all endeavors it has to face.

Kate and Brad are a young, unmarried upscale San Francisco couple. Every Christmas they spend at some distant and warm location just to get away from their crazy families. The plan for the 2006 Christmas is to go to Fiji. However, it fails when they get to the San Francisco airport and see that all flights have been canceled due to an immense foggy front covering the city. Things get even worse when the CBS 5 TV crew interviews them revealing their whereabouts to the whole city and to their families. Having no more excuses they have to spend Christmas with their dysfunctional families. Kate and Brad’s greatest fears are realized as their families share their most personal secrets. Soon they start to learn more about themselves, things they’ve taken for granted and about each other. By the end of the day the question is raised – can their relationship stand these new realizations?

“The Messenger” is a powerful drama about a war hero making his first steps toward a normal life.
